According to Corinne Bailey Rae’s homepage she has recorded a number of songs for a new British Tv program called “Live at Abbey Road” which will be broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK.
The songs she will be singing were recorded back in the summer but will be televised on November 25th for the shows opening episode at 11:30pm
Corinne Bailey Rae won’t be the only star on the program Muse & Paul Simon and some other stars will be on hand.

Corinne recently recorded a very special EP chauk full of alternative versions of previously recorded material (or in english she remixed some of her old tracks and put them on a new album). However the new tracks were supposed to be exclusive to the USA.
The new album is now on sale in North America, unfortunately the rest of us are out of luck and the only current way to hear her new album is to buy it of iTunes.

This time Corinne has recieved a nomination at the UK Festival Awards, an awards program which attempts to recongize performers and organizers around the UK for putting on an ourstanding festival during the summer, under the “Best Live Urban Act” catagory.
It’s not quite an oscar but its also quite the achievement so good for you Corinne Bailey Rae and we hope you take home the prize!

This morning Corinne was nomatinated as the best UK and Ireland Act, Im not terribly familiar with the European MTV awards but I do know the award’s will be handed out later this year in Copenhagen.

If your lucky enough to live in North America then you’ll be pleased to know that 4 brand new live sessions have just been posted on iTunes, the rest of us however will have to wait until October 16th to buy them.

Corinne in a recent interview revealed that as a child she was consistantly racially abused, what makes this case even more sad is that the verbal assualts thrown at her were partially due to people mistaking her as someone of Pakistani ancestory.
She was brought up in the quiet town of Leeds, England and her mother was white and her father was black but originally came from the Caribbean not the middle east.
But being the strong woman that she is she quickly learned how to deal with the verbal attacks.
Corinne Bailey Rae says, “My sisters and I were different and people used to say, ‘Ah, aren’t they cute, the little chocolate children, and look at their hair.’ I know they were only being cute but it was over the top.
“Then people from other schools would shout, ‘Paki’ to me because it was the most common racist insult of the time. At least if you’re going to do it, get it right. I used to shout back, ‘But my dad isn’t from Pakistan, he’s from St Kitts – so there.’
“It does really shake and shock you when you are young. Things have changed now. People are more accepting.”
